Give it up, Favre...it's time to retire

Troy Aikman retired after a modest 11 seasons, Kurt Warner recently announced being done, rounding out 12 seasons, Joe Montana finished with 14 seasons, John Elway ended on two Superbowl titles and 15 seasons, and Dan Marino racked up 16 seasons.
Your current number of 19 seasons is overkill.

Sure, there's the argument that you have one more year in your contract to fulfill, but is it really worth it? Supposedly, there was an idea that if you were to take this last shot, you'd lead the Vikings to their first Superbowl.

The Saints are going to their first Superbowl and they didn't need a egotistical high profile quarterback to get them there.

You don't play for the love of the game, you play for the love of face time, because those Wrangler jeans and Sears commercials aren't enough. Also, who cries when they're talking about the possibility of retiring? Get it together! You don't throw that word around, unless you're desperate for attention, which you've demonstrated more clearly, than still having what it takes to play. Time to say goodbye to the NFL ASAP.

Sincerely,

Everyone who watches the NFL
