Judging experience: I've judged something that the sororities and fraternities did. I judge debate. What do you expect: I'm hoping to see a tight band, they show that they play together well.
What would you like to see:
A, you might like the music.
B, You might not like the music but it was well played. I want to look at quality vocals and how good technically the players are.
Third, I look for performance and onstage presence. What impresses you: The total package. You could have someone who is good technically but has no showmanship. The whole package rather than learning on any one those things.
Favorite Band: The Rolling Stones
Best concert ever attended: The Who at the Winterland in San Francisco in 1975. They had the whole package, Pete Townshend leaping of the top off a guitar amp during Won't Get Fooled Again, Roger Daltrey running around the stage singing. They were the whole package.
Other concerts attended: Grateful Dead, Eric Clapton, Rolling Stones, Van Morrison
Lorna Holmes Professor of Classics
Judging Experience: Nope.
What do you expect to see: I'm not sure what to expect.
What would you like see: I'd like to see them all play pretty well.
Favorite Band: I really like Gogol Bordello. They're an Eastern European gypsy punk band
Best Concert ever attended: The Rolling Stones 15 years ago in Detroit. It was a true dionysiac experience.
Who best describes your judging style Paula Abdul, Simon Cowe, or Randy Jackson: Paula Abdula: it's not like people aren't try to do well.

Judging Experience: I grew up in Las Vegas. So I've had opportunities to grow up with musical stuff.
What do you expect to see: I don't know what to expect.
What would you like to see: Talented people playing well and having good time.
Favorite Band: The Rolling Stones or the Grateful Dead
Best concert ever attended: It was in Los Angeles at The University of Southern California, Jefferson Airplane, Country Joe and The Fish , Janis Joplin and Big Brother and the Holding Company (the last one is one band editor!) in 1969. It ran from 9 at night to 2 or 3 in the morning.
A band impresses you when: The musicians are really in tune with one another.
