For some, football is the most significant event of the season. For those who don't play for the Chargers, intramural sports provides a more relaxed alternative to engaging in fall's favorite pass time.
Just this past Monday marked the end of the men's IM football season. The contenders for the championship game were "Prestige Worldwide" and "Boyle's Brigade."
With 35 seconds left in the game, Boyle's Brigade had possession and a chance to win it all, but couldn't match up to Prestige Worldwide's defense. The final score ended up being 21-16, with Prestige taking home the win.
"I'm proud of our boys. We worked hard," senior brigade captain Kevin Boyle said. "Their quarterback's got a good arm, and was tough to defend."
Prestige senior captain and quarterback Andrew Little was also proud of his teammates, pointing out that his receivers made a lot of great catches.
Overall, the most important thing for both teams was the enjoyment of the game.
"The season in general was a blast!" Little said. " We had a lot of great athletes on the team, and overall just wanted to have fun."
Let the offseason begin.
