Delta Sigma Phi dominated in dodgeball and Pi Beta Phi came from behind to claim victory over Chi Omega in volleyball Wednesday night. Pi Beta Phi President Megan Huening, a junior, said the Pi Phi team's dedicated practice had paid off.

"It was evident that a lot of time and effort was put into [their game]," Huening said.

After the match, Chi Omega President junior Brooke Olesen was not disappointed to take second.

"It was a really well-played game, really quality volleyball," she said.

Though volleyball wasn't a success, freshman Sonny Gast said Kappa Kappa Gamma sorority showed a lot of heart.

"We've been holding our own and we hope to do better as the week progresses," she said.

Senior and Panhellenic President Lindsay Horton noted each house's successes.

"Every house has had their shining moment," she said. Horton said Chi Omega came out on top in jump rope with an impressive total of 74 jumps in a row and Kappa Kappa Gamma stroked to first in the swimming event. Both were held Tuesday night.

Today, the sororities will match up in a highly anticipated soccer tournament, and the fraternities will compete in volleyball, cornhole, and horseshoes.

The current standings have Chi Omega in first with seven points, followed by Pi Beta Phi with six points, then Kappa Kappa Gamma with five. Delta Sigma Phi leads the fraternities with 30 points, while Alpha Tau Omega has 27 points, Sigma Chi 16 and Delta Tau Delta 8.

Senior ATO Tony Bechtol said, "There is a lot of excitement around Greek Week this year and it's a great thing for the fraternity system as a whole. I'm excited to see how the weekend turns out."
