I'm rather upset about the article you guys published humiliating the baseball team. I do not understand what makes the Collegian staff have the audacity to do such a thing. I think it was a very disrespectful article to write because they are doing what they can with what they have. Did you guys know the team only has a few full scholarships for over 20 players? Considering this school is pretty expensive to attend we're lucky enough to have people that want to be on our team. A lot of people on the Collegian staff probably have no idea about all the work that college athletes put into their sports. And also, what is the line "It's not enough for you to simply lumber around like the other disappointing athletes?" supposed to mean?
We have a lot of successful programs at this school. I understand The Collegian has the right to write about what they please, but was this really necessary? Some are making attempts to close the gap between students and student-athletes, and this article is doing anything but that.
