The [weekly editorial] written about the baseball team was embarrassing. It is totally ridiculous that you would call out a team for having an unsuccessful season; they are trying their best. I am assuming that you don't understand what goes into playing a Division II varsity sport. As a member of the track and field team, I can say that each and every day we athletes work out in the same building, and no one shows up for practice to waste time or earn a right to "walk around campus with a... badass tempo." The baseball team should not be ridiculed because they are having trouble putting wins together. What's worse is that you say they all have some sort of attitude. I personally don't see it and while reading the article out loud to my teammates I found that most agreed. They go to school for three to five hours a day, just like everyone else, and then they spend another two to three hours at practice. I know there are plenty of people on campus that can sympathize with their work load such as other athletes, musicians, actors and singers on campus... oh yeah, and you people at the newspaper. I don't know if your nods to the successful athletes on campus were supposed to be compliments, but I don't think Aaron Falk, Jared Krout, Kate Cezat or Andrew Dodson appreciate you taking their success and rubbing it in the face of others.

Most importantly, I know there are issues with the divide between students and student-athletes on this campus. Do you really think this was a appropriate way to address your readers? Do you think this is responsible journalism? What exactly were you hoping to add to the student body by printing this article? I think you owe them and the student body an apology.
