Two more wins at the Thanksgiving Weekend Tournament in Indianapolis brought the Charger women to a 4-0 record. Tonight, they play their first of 22 conference games against Lake Superior State University in the Jesse Phillips Arena.

Head coach Claudette Charney said the Charges should win, despite two post players on the LSSU team who were absent when the Chargers defeated the Lakers last season.

"We're obviously trying to continue doing what we've done," Charney said. "They are ranked 13th nationwide, we're ranked 10th. It's going to be two good teams going at each other."

Charney said the Chargers will focus on the little things and defending to secure a win.

Senior Claire Aubrey said the two LSSU posts they will be watching out for are 6' and 6'3".

Teammate and senior Katie Cezat said the win won't be easy but she feels the Chargers can defeat the Lakers.

"They're good but we can and should beat them," Cezat said.

Charney said the Chargers enter tonight's game up from the tournament with two players returning who were sick in Indianapolis.

Junior and starter Janay Miller and freshman Katie Bildner were both ill in Indianapolis, forcing the team to make last-minute changes.

"That hurt us from a standpoint of depth," Charney said. "We're just looking forward to having two players back."

The Chargers took on Southern Indiana University Friday, winning 70-55. They defeated the University of Indianapolis Saturday, 77-63.

In the first game, Cezat scored 29 points and a season-high of 19 rebounds. Freshman Chelsea Harrison stood out scoring two three-pointers in the second half.

"She came in and was strong," Aubrey said. "She gave us some key threes."

Aubrey praised Cezat for performing well in the two games.

"We got two W's," Aubrey said. "It's always nice to walk away with two W's."

Charney said fans should especially watch Cezat tonight.

"She's a very crafty player," she said.

Cezat was named the GLIAC South Division Player of the Week for the second time this season Monday.

Charney looks forward to opening up conference play on the Chargers' home court.

"It's nice to open up at home," she said. "We look forward to doing that.
