Men's IM football season ended Wednesday night in a championship matchup between undefeated Delta Sigma Phi fraternity and the No Names.

There was some trash talking as the teams took the field. The No Names started with the ball and scored on a misdirection reverse pass that left sophomore Jamie McNeil wide open in the end zone.

The Delts quickly tied it up on their first possession. After being stopped on their first three plays, the No Names decided to go for it on fourth and long. Junior Thomas Thistleton scrambled to the outside and threw a deep touchdown pass, giving his team the lead. In return, the Delts' QB Zach Rausch connected with his receiver down the length of the field for a one-play touchdown drive. The teams went into the half tied at 13.

Several small groups of fans braved the chilly afternoon to watch the action, and they were not disappointed.

"No one expected this to be a close game, but that first half was as good as it gets. The atmosphere is definitely worthy of a championship game," said Aubrie Wagaman, a sophomore on team Young Guns.

The second half did not live up to the intensity of the first. After forcing Delt Sig into their first punt of the year, the No Names threw interceptions on back-to-back possessions. Both times, Delt Sig capitalized by scoring a touchdown. After they added one more touchdown to make the score 33-13, the outcome was clear.

No Names managed to score once more before the game ended, making the final score 33-19. Kyle Weber served as interim coach for the No Names after breaking his hand earlier this season.

"It was a hard fought game," he said. "We managed to keep it close for a while, but a couple plays changed the game in their favor."
