The Palin Problem
Doesn't look VP to me
Jancy Nightingale
Issue date: 10/23/08 Section: Opinion
When John McCain announced Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin as his running mate, I was horrified. Obviously, that was his attempt to tighten up the presidential race. Palin grew on the people and is practically America's sweetheart. That is why she's a threat to the nation. Her wide-eyed soccer mom and "not so hard on the eyes" packaging is frightening. Every mom wants to hang out with her, and every guy wants to buy her a beer.
A leader is someone you want to rely on in the middle of a crisis, not distract you from the problem with pageant walks. She acts more as an alluring advertisement for John McCain than a capable potential vice president.
She says whatever McCain and his staff tells her to say, and all she adds is her uninformed opinions.
She's an adorable danger to America, and we should avoid her at all costs. With the state of the economy, and everything else, the last thing we need is a soccer mom in the White House.
