With a new Web-based search engine, Hillsdale College students will be able to better comb the catalogue at Mossey Library.
The library announced the addition Tuesday of the search platform Encore, which will return findings beyond just books, including related media and e-books. It also will suggest recently added or popular items and offer links to library databases.
Encore uses "tag clouds," which are clickable clusters of words, to help launch additional or related searches.
"For the first time, our users can easily move beyond the traditional online library catalog to a richer online discovery experience," Librarian Maurine McCourry said in a release.
Students can access Encore at www.hillsdale.edu/library or http://library.hillsdale.edu.
