Under what circumstances may a student reschedule an exam?
Provost Robert Blackstock said he never requires students to take more than two exams on a single day. He said students should talk to their professors if they need to reschedule exams.
Some professors insist on rescheduling the exam for a date earlier than the original, he said, to minimize the possibility of cheating.
Must professors administer cumulative exams? And are take-home exams allowed?
Before last semester, the provost required every professor to give a cumulative, in-class exam, Blackstock said.
The new policy "urges" professors to follow those guidelines, but he said they also allow exceptions. He asks professors to talk to the dean of faculty about those special cases.
