False report causes lice scare in dorms

Alarm spread quickly throughout Hillsdale College's campus Wednesday night after women in McIntyre Residence mistakenly reported fifteen cases of lice to the dean of women's office.
Only two cases were actually confirmed, McIntyre House Director Theresa Martin said this week.
"It snowballed out of hand," Martin said. "Once the school nurse got here, it ended up to be just two people. Everybody was checking each others' heads. What they thought they saw was not lice."
Unaware that the problem was minimal, Resident Assistants in Olds Residence screened women in the lobby one by one, while Galloway House Director Lois Knape had the men check each other after a dormitory meeting at 9 p.m.
"[Dean of Men Aaron Petersen] told me I had to check," Knape said Wednesday. "The best way was to have them check each other. We're lice-free here."

It's not the lice that scares me, it's the herpes.

When you are 8 years old, those are LICE. When you are a 20 year old college student, those. . .my dear. . .are CRABS.
