Centralhallapalooza 2008 will be a mixture of old and new this year, reviving some favorites like giant inflatable mazes while also bringing new student bands to the stage.
This year's event will take place on the lawn across from Broadlawn on Saturday, April 26.
Dinner will be moved from the dining hall to a tent on the lawn and will be served from 6 to 7 p.m.
At 7 p.m., Nickel Creek Dunn Right, the first of five student bands, will play.
In early March, students voted on which bands they wanted to hear play.
The other four bands (in playing order) are: The Hilltop Moonshiners, Stereo Graffiti, Seraphim and Juny.
Each band will play for an hour.
Director of Student Activities Rebekah Dell said giant inflatables at this year's even will be similar to last year's, including a bounce house, obstacle course, bungee racing and jousting.
Free ice cream, popcorn and cotton candy will be provided all night, she said.
This year's event will also boast an alumni tent for those 21 and older. However, this tent will be twice the size of last year's. Authorities will be carding students at the door of the tent.
Dell said last year's even was a success, hence this year's similarities.
"It seemed to work well," she said. "It appealed to different kinds of people."
Sophomore Erin Cvengros said she would like to attend Centralhallapalooza but can't, due to the GINA relays.
She wasn't able to attend last year, either.
Cvengros said she wanted to go last year to get free ice cream.
Despite this, she still plans on buying an event T-shirt.
Dell said next year SAB would like to hold Centralhallapalooza in the new quad, which is a more central location on campus.
In the case of bad weather, the event will still take place under a tent. However, rain will prevent the use of giant inflatables.
"It will happen rain or shine," Dell said.
