Since beginning his music career in 1985, Jankovic has performed many concerts and master classes in the United States, Europe, Japan, and the Far East.
He began playing at age eight and by 16 had earned two gold, one silver and two bronze medals in the National Music Competition held in his home country, Yugoslavia.
At 20, he accepted a teaching job at Belgrade Community College, sparking a long illustrious teaching career that led him to his current job as Professor and Coordinator for the Guitar Department at Indiana University's Jacobs School of Music, where he earned his masters and studied under the great maestro Ernesto Bitetti.
Jankovic has recorded two compact discs since 1998.
Hillsdale College Guitar Instructor Larry Williams invited Jankovic to perform at Hillsdale after seeing him play at Albion College.
"He played with a lot of passion and musicality, and did an excellent job in the master class," Williams said. "Afterwards I asked him to play here and he said yes."
His mastery of the classical technique presents his music in expressive and poignant ways that all guitarists can appreciate.
"Anyone who plays any style of guitar could benefit from his class and watching his concert," Williams said.
Both his master class and concert are free and open to the public.
