The rugby team played an intra squad scrimmage Saturday on the snowy "Muddy" Waters Football Field.
"The game was very cold, probably the worst conditions we have ever or will ever play in," sophomore Ian Faley said.
Freshman Sam Fiske, who blacked out during the game after receiving a blow to the head, said the cold didn't bother him too much.
"Being from Minnesota, I didn't think it was too bad, except for the gale-force winds out of the north," he said. "It made it a little uncomfortable. But once we got going it wasn't bad."
"The guys who were wearing shorts - that must have been crazy," he added.
Though Faley described his condition during the game as "cold, numb and beat-up," he said the game was good practice for upcoming competition.
The rugby team will play against other schools in five matches this spring, beginning in April. Players are weight-lifting and practicing every Saturday in preparation.
