The Hillsdale College Jazz Big Band participated in the Ann Arbor Jazz Festival this past Saturday, hosted by the University of Michigan.
The all-day event was a tribute to iconic jazz bassist Ray Brown, and a number of Michigan and regional academic ensembles were in attendance to participate in workshops, seminars, master classes, performances and adjudications.
Hillsdale County Intermediate School District Superintendent Robert Henthorne, lead trumpeter in the Big Band, said, "The event was really great, and I think we did the school really proud."
