It took four vacation days and 20,000 lights for Patrick Chartrand's musical Christmas display to launch last month. Now Chartrand, ITS Network/Systems Manager, is fielding calls for interviews and grabbing attention for the display.
The show, which runs through Light-o-Rama computer software, synchronizes lights to music. Passerby tune to 88.9 FM in their cars to hear Chartrand's seven songs.
"It takes about two hours to do every one minute of music," Chartrand said in an e-mail to The Collegian.
The display, which Chartrand calls "medium sized," has been running since Thanksgiving. He said the music synchronization sets it apart from other local displays. Chartrand said he has not received any complaints from neighbors and passed the fire marshal's electrical inspection, "with flying colors."
