Fitness club gets in official shape
Student Federation gave Fitness Club organizers official club status October 25.
Already, 20 students have shown interest in the club, which will have its first meeting tonight.
The club targets students who were athletes in high school and are seeking workout partners and a regulated fitness routine.
"We want to network students who are committed to fitness," club organizer Alison Rentschler, a sophomore, said. "This isn't an intensive club where you have to go to every meeting. Even if someone only works out once a week, they can join."
The club will offer nutrition seminars, Pilates classes, fun runs every few weeks and e-mail workouts and nutrition facts.
Those interested can attend the first meeting tonight at 7 p.m. in Kendall 235.

Cycling club gains interest, finds new coach
The cycling club is gaining interest with new coach Frankie Andreu, a retired professional cyclist, on board.
Andreu competed in the Tour de France nine times, from 1992-2000, before retiring in 2000. He began coaching the cycling club three weeks ago.
The club functions as an NCAA team, allowing them to compete with other colleges.
Club organizer David Yount, a junior, said they will race against Division I teams such as the University of Michigan and Michigan State beginning next semester.
