A loud crowd of 300 fans witnessed pro-wrestling history at the Hillsdale County Fairgrounds Saturday night. For the first time in 16 years, three-time World Wrestling Federation tag team champions Demolition performed.

Composed of Ax and Smash, Demolition entered the Championship International
Wrestling ring and ran roughshod over the competition.

Fan anticipation prior to Demolition's return was anxious and palpable. Aaron McNahan, creator of a web site which is the definitive source on Michigan's independent pro-wrestling leagues, was an expert on the scene.

"In the state of Michigan, the return of Demolition is the biggest pro wrestling event this weekend," he said.

The crowd agreed with their raucous reaction to Demolition's entrance; the tandem received the only standing ovation given out during the evening.

Entering the ring in their trademark leather, studs and colorful face paint, Demolition quickly earned their applause. Though originally scheduled to face former CIW tag champs Mayhem (Nitro and Chainsaw), an invasion by rival promotion IWR earlier in the evening changed the lineup.

The end result was a stark division between good and evil. Demolition and Mayhem teamed up to face the best of IWR's antagonists, facing "The Amazing" N8 Matteson,
Gutter and the masked Bumping Uglies. Earlier in the evening, Matteson had entered the league and declared his IWR contingent out for blood. It was a challenge Demolition didn't take lightly.

"Now you've stuck your nose in Demolition's business," Smash said.

This intensity led to a heated main event. The desperate IWR contingent cheated an attempt to stem the onslaught, but Demolition quickly clobbered them.

After a prolonged brawl, which carried them all over the venue, Mayhem pinned Matteson with an elaborate double-team slam of the top turnbuckle and sent the fans home happy.

After the event, Demolition delivered a speech backstage to celebrate their triumphant return.

"This business is like riding a bike -- you just have to get back into the swing of things," Ax said of his team's return. "However, Demolition is a bike that just rides over people. We aren't stopping for anyone anytime soon."
