The driver, Allison Sawdey, 16, of Hillsdale, was southbound on Hillsdale St. when a strong storm system caused the 50-foot limb to fall on her car.
The accident occurred near the Dow House and the Ambler Health Center.
Emergency crews responded quickly and spent 20 minutes extracting Sawdey from the car.
Firefighters continued to saw apart the branch, and the scene took over an hour to clear.
Workers removed the rest of the tree on Aug. 24.
Director of Security Mike Wertz said the tree was city property, and not part of the college's trees.
