A single actress waits in the wings of the stage, sipping bottled water, watching the action of the play in progress. Long minutes pass. Finally she picks up a large floppy shoulder bag, approaches the curtains, crouches low to stretch her legs, then steps on stage, where boisterous British accents greet her. (1) comment

Most of us cook as an alternative to Saga, Inc. Junior Ben Shelton finds ways to make the most of what Saga, Inc. offers. Shelton said he likes to cook at home, but on campus he hones his strategies for better eating in Knorr Family Dining Room. Into the Beautiful North, the newest novel by Luis Alberto Urrea, tells the story of 19 year-old Nayeli and her quest to repatriate and bring home seven Mexican men from the North to drive out the banditos and repopulate her town. Helping her in this legend-sized endeavor are her friends Yolo, Vampi and Tacho, along with a host of allies, the most outlandish of which is a garbage dump samurai named Atómiko who comes complete with staff and Hello Kitty backpack. A Tchaikovsky symphony Associate Professor of Music James Holleman has waited years to showcase will headline this Parent's Weekend's offerings. The Hillsdale Symphony Orchestra will perform Tchaikovsky's 4th and Haydn's 8th symphonies this Saturday and Sunday, in two performances Holleman anticipates will be some of Hillsdale College's best. The classic thriller "Dial M for Murder," featuring lots of familiar Hillsdale College faces, finishes its run at the Sauk Theater in Jonesville this weekend. The play, later adapted into a movie and directed by Alfred Hitchcock, focuses on a retired pro-tennis player, Tony Wendice, who has married for money. (0) comments
