In the last year, senior and art major Tyler Sharette, along with his business partner Ian Sabbag, a senior marketing major at the University of Michigan, launched The Dark North, a business that not only makes T-shirts, but is also dedicated to finding and promoting new musicians and artists such as disc jockeys and dance teams. Chamber choir auditions returned in full swing this year, with 65 students vying for 28 spots. Last year students could only audition for a handful of spots, said Associate Professor of Music and choir director James Holleman, because the choir needed to prepare quickly for their performance in Colorado at the College's National Leadership Seminar.
