Men's basketball stagger into playoffs, face Grand Valley

Despite suffering two losses this past week, Charger men's basketball heads to Grand Valley State University Saturday for the GLIAC Tournament. Grand Valley comes in as both the No. 1 seed and host of the tournament, and is No.2 in the country for Division II. (0) comments

When the college swim team searched for a coach at the beginning of their season, the captains took responsibility for the team. Juniors Anne Verhoef and Ali Lanctot ran practices, encouraged the team, and acted as role models in and out of the pool. GOOD TO KNOW: 'The toughest pitch to hit,' the changeup

Assistant coach Andy Lovell calls a good changeup the most difficult pitch to hit, so he has the pitching rotation working on theirs daily. The changeup is exactly what it sounds like - a change of speed. It's a slow pitch. Pitchers grip the ball in a variety of ways that limit how fast they can throw it. (0) comments

I've always said Hillsdale College is the Notre Dame of Division II athletics: small, outstanding academics, battling against universities 10 times its size, facing recruiting challenges due to its standards, but darn good at competing in athletics anyway. (0) comments
