The Collegian Weekly: Football team needs your chest painted

It takes an exceptional football team to win over an apathetic audience. But this year's squad has the stamina to leave everyone including the sport-illiterate enraptured by a 30-yard rush, the courage of a quarterback on the 10-yard line, or a last-second field goal. (5) comments

Even high school wasn't this bad: parents sitting down with each instructor, discussing that C on your last test, your progress, and your missing assignments. I appreciate that Hillsdale College is different from other colleges, including added parent participation in the education process. (1) comment

Mary Petrides' article regarding porn displays a basic misunderstanding of the problem and scope of porn and lust. The response to "man up" simply does not cut it. As I am the son of a man who has spent thirty years discipling men full-time for a Christian ministry organization, porn and masturbation have been an open subject as far as I can remember knowing what they were. I watch porn. Yeah, good ol' American porn in the form of Cosmopolitan Magazine, MTV, advertisements, you name it. I watch porn when I don't even want to. Porn is not just late night Cinemax or XXX Web sites, it is already embedded deep into our culture whether we like (or know) it or not. (0) comments

The amount of furor over the Sigma Chi Jail and Bail debacle (which, we must remember, is rooted in philanthropy) is much ado about nothing. First, let's review the facts all sides must acknowledge. At its heart, the Sigma Chi Jail and Bail is an event with years of tradition behind it. (4) comments
