The day begins on another warm and sunny day in a little piece of Texan paradise. There is a light breeze floating in over the tide onto the beach, barely noticeable under an 85 degree temperature that lingers all through the day, dropping into the low 70s and high 60s at night.

In some cultures, bridal showers consist of colorful costumes, food, festivities and elaborate ceremonies that intend to usher in good luck and joy to the new couple while simultaneously allowing the women present to bondt.
While the ladies of Hillsdale College are less elaborate when they throw showers for brides-to-be, their informality and budgets do not inhibit creativity or the ability to provide lasting, bonding experiences.

Remember the hip-huggers and cut-off T-shirts of junior high, when everything was as short, tight and low as your parents would allow? Those days are over. For the last several years, dresses and florals have been taking over. But feminine doesn't mean frumpy as three Hillsdale seniors prove.

Make room, metrosexuals and polo-wearing nerds: a manlier man, full-bearded and hairier-chested, has hung up his flannel coat at Hillsdale College and is here to stay.

On a typical Saturday in January, most Miami students are lounging
around, checking Facebook, and going Uptown to meet friends
later that night. For sophomore Elena Rodrigues, however, her
Saturdays are sometimes a bit different.

There have been many events raising awareness about this year's theme of consumption, but only one occasion where the performers chucked bananas at the audience.
In a show both silly and serious, the traveling feminist theater troupe The Guerrilla Girls on Tour creatively tackled consumption themes in "Feminists are Funny - The Food Edition," on March 3 in Ace Morgan Theatre.

MTV's new hit reality show "Jersey Shore" has made the terms
'Guido,' 'Guidette' and 'Juicehead' household names. Even
people who haven't heard them are consumed with the ideas
behind them-fi tness and building muscle.
'Meatheads' is another commonly used word, thanks to "Jersey
Shore," used to describe a person who frequently lifts weights
at the gym.

With a mix of surprise, suspense and gore "The Crazies" does prove to be somewhat of an original movie. Although it is a remake, this holds up to the horrors of today. Unlike other horror films, the movie takes hold of the viewer from the start instead of forcing the audience to watch the first 30 minutes of character buildup.

Joanna Newsom is not to be taken seriously. In fact, it is important to understand that the artists on Drag City--the Chicago-based indie label that is home to Newsom and a number of other semi-geniuses--is not to be taken seriously. Of course, in no way does this mean that Newsom's releases--or her label mate's releases--are not brilliant, beautiful, and fully realized perfect pieces of music.

You. You, and that astonishingly graceful happy-dance you do after seeing an A on your returned midterms. Cleveland's best kept secret?
Well, no, probably not. For a phrase so often thrown around, determining whether or not the item in reference qualifies for the hallowed 'best kept secret' status is hardly a process of scientific rigor.

In Moon, the film written and directed by Duncan Jones, we are confronted with several fundamental ethical issues. Sam Bell faces the alienation of being alone on a lunar station, completely isolated from earth by a faulty communications link. However, the reasons for this isolation are not as simple as being alone on the moon.

Midterms Week is upon us, which can only mean one thing: Spring Break is right around the corner at PUC. Because it is still cold outside (how cruel of a joke is that? Spring Break during winter?), many of you take the opportunity to visit warmer locales, but others may not have the means or the funds to do so.

It's the typical midwestern small town. Everybody knows one another; goes to the high school ball games and someone is always the talk of the town. It seems perfect, not a care in the world for anyone. That is until strange things start happening to some of the folks in town.

The great thing about horror movies is that if you don't go in expecting much, you're often continually surprised at how much you enjoy yourself. With "The Crazies," I came in expecting a fairly typical zombie/psychopath flick, and I got a rather amusing little piece of political horror.

Detroit, the city renowned for graffiti and ghettos. But that's not the Detroit I know. Mine is full of architecture and modern art set to the soundtrack of buzzing chains and humming tires. Beat The Train: it means a lot of things to all of its members, but to me it's about breaking out and seeing the city at its best.

Stress is an irrevocable part of a student's everyday life. School means homework and tests; and stress is just a 'bonus,' which gets thrown in anywhere involving pressure.
Students have many different ways to relieve this stress, both healthy and unhealthy.
