WMUB to change format, broadcast in HD WMUB, an NPR affiliate station licensed by Miami University, will change to a High Definition format August 3. It will operate as a full-time news and information station. Chair of the journalism department, Richard Campbell suggested the change in a report calling for more commitment to public service.

Fifty-eight members of the Miami University Glee Club traveled to China in June to sing for a kickoff to the Summer Olympic Games.
According to Ethan Sperry, the director of Miami University's Glee Club, the choir was asked if they wanted to be a part of the festival two years ago after a performance.

Students returning to Ball State University this week will notice changes in and around the L.A. Pittenger Student Center. A construction fence will be going up around the main entrance to the building this week as construction continues on the building.
Bruce Morgan, director of the Student Center and Programs, said the construction started a month ago and would be done in two phases.

Freshman enrollment this year is at an all-time high.
Director of Admissions Betty Wagner said she expects freshman enrollment at around 3,800, which would exceed 2006's record of 3,776.
"This year I think we'll have between 3,770 and 3,800 freshmen. It's hard to say exactly, but CMU continues to be extremely popular," she said.
